who says that they are giving limit of "25 gb" for customers who have 512 kb/sec connection? i bet they are not giving more than 5-8 gb… i have examined that very clearly when i was around 6 gb my speed has been cut to half…and yes this new policy really sucks…how can they even take their words back when we are paying the money which they have demanded….this really sucks….

Airtel reduced my night speed

When the repair work had not even started Airtel reduced my night speed in the Turbo 1299 speed from 1Mbps to 512 Kbps and blamed it on undersea cable. Airtel is always finding new ways to cheat there broadband subscribers.
If the repair work goes on for the next 15 days who will compensate for that? will Airtel offer us a waiver in our bill for the loss of bandwidth?

DON'T BE MISLED BY ANY OTHER REVIEWS. I HAD HIGH OPINION OF AIRTEL DTH UNTIL IT KONKED OFF 2 MONTHS AFTER INSTALL AND 5 DAYS NOW, I'M YET TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AT AIRTEL BCOS (believe me) I CANNOT GET THROUGH TO THEIR CUSTOMER CARE EXEC ON THE PUBLISHED NUMBERS.

Airtel Digital TV 1800 102 8080 is The Worst customer care service(121 never gave me issues). The number is busy through out the day and most part of the night. Even if you get through and are done entering your customer id and other info using their IVR, someone picks up and just hangs up on you. I lost ÿÿÿÿption about 5 days ago and I'm not kidding that I have tried both their toll free and tolled number a few hundred times from various phones and network. I got through the busy lines only 3 times and all 3 times they hung up on me after making me listen to the stupid Airtel music for 8 - 10 minutes.
There's just no way in hell now to get this thing started without being able to get through to their customer care executive. I wish somebody 'ex‚„‹–es' them all bastards!!!
They have one emaiIúÀ that just sends an automated acknowledgement email with no ticket/incident number to follow through on. 4 days now and there's been no one who got in touch.
But I should give credit to their sales team. I placed order at 8.45 pm on saturday in March and the installation guys were knocking my door at 11 a next day (sunday). But that's all there's to it.
DON'T EVEN TRY AIRTEL. THEY ARE AS BAD AS RELIANCE AND ONLY GETTING WORSE.

Right now I have a 42 GB of data to download…with my current ISP plan i.e. 512kps night unlimited..it will take me atleast a month to download all that!
I am gonna buy this 5000 plan of airtel…download alll that I need within a day or two…and be done with it! instead of spending over a month worth of time just on downloading!!!
though airtel sucks…! damn loser company!
I will save enormous time, electricity, money and power. plus can use my computer for some real work! :-)
I love airtel…though it sucks with all that money involved in this SCAM…!

The problem for iptv is the unreliable internet connections (read packet loss and disconnections ) we have in this country, Airtel now has 8mbps plans available, i hope they switch their iptv to these networks. It is impossible to stream a live television on a 256 kbps line.

I purchased IPTV when I was constantly bugged by AIRTEL sales people who said please buy, it is free in your current 999 plan (broadband and telephone). As I was having DISH TV which is another problem (unprofessional) I decided to take IPTV and paid AIRTEL rs 4000. The service people came very professionally dressed etc, tried couple of things and installed it. Installation was fine. However after that I am finding that my internet is not working as good as earlier. I realized they have downgraded my internet plan to accomodate IPTV. While the sales guy told IPTV to be free, but it came at a cost of internet bandwidth. On calling airtel they said that they had told me about the bandwidth in IPTV plan etc. Cutting short the story, if I now go to buy the same bandwidth with IPTV, it costs me Rs 400 extra. There is no free lunch and I am feeling very frustrated.
On top of that IPTV is smudgy, has high latency, colors are bad and has a very bad viewing experience. Now I am thinking that I should go to TATA sky which probably are the most professional. I purchased that in my other home at Jaipur and the experience of viewing was much better.

I completely agree with Airtel IPTV feedback. It is not a right decision to buy. I am having problems in net access after I have purchased IPTV. The technology is immature, not sufficiently backed up by infrastructure. The channels are not coming well, there is lot of graininess and haziness, it is very frustrating slow to change channels.

this is why i will never change my bsnl plan. the speed may not be 16 mbps but i am happy enough with the unlimited plan. They are cheap and well worth it. downloads @256 kbps take longer time but atleast you get it done and moreover you can keep downloading 24×7. Airtel’s offer has ‘Danger!!!!’ sign written all over it. 20 GB and 50 GB limits @16 mbps is plainly ridiculous. And who knows how much they will charge over that limit. Furthermore that limit is of data transfer ie upload+download. You can surf for a few hours and use up a significant part of that limit.

You were lucky to remember SIFY. We were not no lucky so as to remember anybody of modern ages. Airtel took whole 30 hrs (yes, 30 hours) to locate the reasons for the disruption of 2 Mbps line - you know what! It ’s just mere 15 minutes test needed to locate this kind of problem generally.
They had spent more than 29+ hours or so in not letting into customer’s suggestion (to look at their end - MUX or something) and inventing exotic stories to explain why they do not want to investigate at their end.
Finally they had budged in and accepted that their MUX or something was the cause and did something to restore the services.
Better to have services, albeit at snail pace; rather than completely shut off from your clients and the rest of world.

I am smitha holding an airtel broadband from past 2years and number is 040-40210771. I have already lodged a verbal complaint for cancellation of my account one month ago and in turn i have also received calls from ur depts(i.e.service,

cancellation,etc.) regarding this. They have promised to cancel but that has not been done and i am receiving bills still for which there is connection because it got disconnected from past 45 days.now your executive is coming and for payment, when we told this issue he is now saying that we have not given a written complaint so it will not be done.
Since you people called and confirmed for cancellation i have not given a written complaint having a belief inyou. But this is ridiculus.If you think that this is your dam procedure then accept this as a writtemn complaint and act fast and get me out this head ache at the earliest.

I Wonder, how writing here solves the problem but have the last hope for it. I have a very small problem but just to solve that small problem i have to dedicate 15 minutes “EVERYDAY” call your Hotline and getting updates on the complaint lodged.
The problem goes like this; I am a prepaid customer and i have never ever activated any scheme on my cell no. In spite of this Rs.25 was deducted on 17th of January 2008 (Which was later told me that Friends and Family scheme was activated on my cell no). I have recharged my cell for Rs.200 on 15th of January. Now when i called Airtel Customer Support and complaint about it they immediately apologies for the same and unsubscribed me from that scheme and assured me that the Rs.25 which was deducted will be credited to my number within the next 24 hours. There was no problem till here. I was happy and actually appreciated the work.
The mess started from this point onwards.
48 hours was over, as i was least bother about the refund as Customer support have assured me for that. Just to have an update on this, I called Customer Care and spoke to the executive. He apologies for the delay and again assured me that the refund will be credited to my number in next 24 hours. i have now kept an eye on the watch and called again after 24 hours. It will be hard to believe but i have called almost everyday and surprisingly got the same answer.
The complaint number and whom I have spoken to are written below:

The worst part was that one fine day when i called Customer Care and asked to speak to the Floor Manager “ALL” executive whom I called, dint allow me to speak to the FM, but i was assured that one of the senior person will be calling me on my cell number the next day. But this was highly expected this time and no had one called me till now and even my problem lies untouched.
If this suggestion is directly red by the top management i think, this is the best way of communicating with the Management and one will be assured for the redressal.

As i have seen previous posts about airtel what the other people say is 100% true airtel never thinks before lootening customers.
Few months back, i got A bill usually it comes below 500 Rs but this time it was like 780 Rs and i was shocked to see intensive usage of the broadband line durig the day and at times when i am at school! i was shocked to see 50mb download during the daytime(i have night plan). i called up their support the support didnt turn up with an answer. I asked for the cancellation of my account and he said that okay we will cancel it..
few days later we recieved a call from their executive askin that why was i keen to get connection cut? and i told her the reason she said we will give you a wavier of 300Rs. i was a satisfied customer.and i paid them 480 rs.
But the next month when the bill arrived still they hadnt done any wavier and added up the next bill + late submission charges. i got angry and called up the support. they said ok we will do it we are clearing all the previous charges. i didnt say anything and took the reference number.
now next month i had to shift i told airtel about it. but they said it would cost us 300Rs i got angry as the shifting services provided are free of cost and i wasnt a new customer i had been their customer for one full year.but then we again said about disconnection they took few more days and another executive called me up. he said that he would get our connection shifted for free. i didnt say anything though and the connection was shifted.
Now when i recieved the bill three months later i was shocked to see that these people didnt doo the wavier and added up the shifting charges. now i am really annoyed with these people. my mother had a surgery this month and i dont want her blood pressure to shoot up due to these petty issues.
now i have called up the support and i was really angry i told them to disconnect their services and please dont ask any of the silly executives to call up.
now lets see what happens
but i think airtel is a very bad internet Service provider they just learn to loot people and nothing else
NOTE- If you want to let your request done by airtel officials you should tell them to disconnect their services or else they will just ignore it.
Also these airtel people dont impress me by their speeds once i was shifted i had experienced speeds of 115kpbs but now it has again dropped to 35.(on 256 kbps line)
so i say this airtel broadband sucks never use them.

Hi all,
I have activated a GPRS connection on my prepaid airtel mobile.
On initial enquiry to customer care centre following was stated by the customer care cntre :
a)It will be charged as 15INR per day from the day of activation till it is active.
b)The deactivation can be done by the user anytime by sending an SMS “GPRSDEACT” to 222.
On 19th Feb 2008, I wanted to deactivate my GPRS and following is the chronological events:
-19th Feb 2008, 10:28 pm :I sent an SMS “GPRSDEACT” to 222. I got an notification saying message delivered, but airtels system fails to process it / deactivate my GPRS.
-19th Feb 2008, 10:29 pm :I sent again an SMS “GPRSDEACT” to 222. I again got an notification saying message delivered, but again airtels system fails to process it / deactivate my GPRS.
-19th Feb 2008, 11:35 pm :Finally I tried it once more before I went to sleep: an SMS “GPRSDEACT” to 222. I again got an notification saying message delivered, but airtels/bhartis unreliable system fails again to process it.
-On 20th Feb , I sent an SMS “GPRSDEACT” to 222 and my GPRS atlast got deactivated.
However I observed that Airtel has billed me 15/-Rs for 20th Feb 2008 too.
I called up the customer care and address my problem against failure of airtel in deactivationg my GPRS on the day I sent the SMS and also for charging me for the additional subsequent day.
There response:
Sorry we cannot help you as the billing was done till 20th FEB 2008 as the GPRS was active till 20th FEB 2008 and doesnt matter if you have sent the SMS on 19th Feb 08.
I went to the Airtel office at Rammaruti Road, THANE,:
but the same response, however I asked them to log a complaint and they said it will be address in 72 hrs, but till date I have not heard from anyone.
Above is the issue and my concern lies with the failure of airtel to compensate or even accept the mistake or even they could have taken a feed back for a technical issue that would have helped the system to be better in future.
I have observed Airtel or Bharti’s inefficiency in the following aspects:
1] Customer relationship and marketing : You dont care for your customers, a mere 15 rs refund would have made me to appreciate people to go for Airtel, on the contrary I will rather urge people not too , also I will never activate GPRS again (A potential loss of 450Rs/month for airtel as against 15 rs refund). I am not discontinuing with Airtel since my phone number is of importance, but awaiting for a scheme to switch to another operator keeping the same number.
2] Inefficient Systems : Airtel couldnt even process a simple SMS delivered to there system. There is no failure mechanism to detect which SMS werent processed in the past (As Airtel customer care said confidently that we didnt recieve any request, but I have sent SMS thrice and they are with a delivered status in my Mobile.) . A failure mechanism ensures future stability of the system on basis of past failures. But Airtel is not even concerned about having manual feedback through customers as against automated failure systems.
Earlier also Airtel’s systems failed to realise payments made via ICICI bank towards recharging prepaid mobile twice. Upon calling both Airtel and ICICI bank you get the diffrence in attitude.
3] Brand Image and Capability rating : Very poor. My comment above would have given you an idea of me being a professional in the same industry. Even in professional world such incidences shall describe airtel as a very mismanaged and customer unfriendly organisation.
The over all poor performing IT - systems and infrastructure as mentioned above shows Bhartis inability to deliver / serve potential big projects. Even in professional world grape-wine communications are strong enough to make decisions.
The above statements seems harsh and over-spoken considering a mere 15Rs ! overcharge issue, but that is the truth I can decipher at my end.
Looking at series of incidents and failures, the image that Bharti and Airtel has, is now in doubt by me and many of my personal friends as well as professional colleagues. And they shouldnt be eligible to provide a service if they dont have the adequate infrastructure and attitude to support it well.
I would appreciate if Airtel / Bharti ever consider feedbacks positive enough, else every organisation is free to decide its own fate.
